Where will By Carlton & Co. ship my crab cakes?

By Carlton & Co. is currently only offering their products in the continental United States. Unfortunately, due to the nature of our product, we do not ship to P.O. Boxes.

How will By Carlton & Co. ship my order?

In order to provide you with the best product possible, we ship all of our orders through FedEx. We understand that overnight delivery can be a little expensive, so we are now offering the choice of 2nd Day Delivery as well. Our products are packed so that even if you choose the 2nd Day Delivery, the crabcakes will still be fresh when they arrive.

When will my crab cakes arrive?

By Carlton & Co. ships orders Monday through Wednesday. Orders received before 12:00PM will be shipped that day through FedEx. Any orders after 12:00PM will be shipped the next shipping day.

Does someone need to be there to accept the delivery?

It is not necessary for someone to be home to accept the delivery, however, due to the nature of crab meat, you will not want your order to sit outside for a very long period of time. Unfortunately, By Carlton & Co. cannot take responsibility for spoilage due to a package being left outside. We recommend you have the package delivered to a place of business so that you can ensure you are available! The product is considered perishable and should be refrigerated right away.

Do you cook the crab cakes before you ship them?

Our crab cakes are fully cooked. You need only heat and serve.

Are these crab cakes the same used at your catered functions?

By Carlton & Co. is particularly proud of its crab cakes and uses the same recipe for its online store that is used for all catered events. Our crab cakes are made fresh daily to ensure that you get the best product possible!

How do you package the crab cakes?

Our crab cakes are packaged in Styrofoam insulated boxes with ice bricks to ensure they stay cool until the customer receives their order.

Are your crab cakes fresh or frozen?

Our crab cakes are made fresh daily and chilled prior to shipping. If the crab cakes are not going to be eaten with a couple of days, we recommend freezing them.

Once thawed, how do I cook them?

Preheat oven to 400F on a sheet pan or leave in the container supplied (which is oven and microwave safe). Heat uncovered for approximately 5 to 8 minutes. We recommend our crab cakes be heated in a conventional oven, but they may be heated in a microwave.

Can I send crab cakes as gifts?
Of course! By Carlton & Co. will even specialize a gift card with your personal message. Just fill out the appropriate information during your checkout, and By Carlton & Co. will take care of the rest. However, we do ask that you do not let our crab cakes be a surprise. Due to the nature of our products, it is not wise to let them sit undelivered!
